Thus, in 2008, Plantas Continental introduces a portfolio composed of 4 varieties, including Malena\u00ae in honour of the local women<b> <\/b>where the Company is located.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Together with the development of new varieties of rose for cut flower, there will also be the diversification with fruit tree propagation taking advantage of the know-how acquired in the rose area, such as the olive or almond tree, as well as the clonation of forest trees with the introduction of the paulownia as bioenergetic investment.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section\" id=\"jd5f\"><button type=\"button\" class=\"w-tabs-section-header\" aria-controls=\"content-jd5f\" aria-expanded=\"false\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-title\">2010<\/div><div class=\"w-tabs-section-control\"><\/div><\/button><div  class=\"w-tabs-section-content\" id=\"content-jd5f\"><div class=\"w-tabs-section-content-h i-cf\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_1b84a947 has_text_color\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p align=\"justify\">During this decade, the company participates in a dozen research projects together with entities such as CDTI, the University of Malaga or the University of Cordoba. At the end of this decade there are already more than 25 commercial varieties of rose for cut flowers with presence in the most important production markets in the world, most of them being award-winning varieties at the trade fairs where they have been exhibited; thus: Cotton Candy\u00ae (Flowers 2012 Expo, Moscow), Pegasso\u00ae (IFTEX 2013, Nairobi), Mayra\u2019s Rose\u00ae Pink (Proflora 2015, Bogota) or the \u201cBest Breeder\u201d (Agriflor 2016, Quito), among others.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">In the fruit sector, the company is already one of the most important companies at the national level, setting itself appart from its competitors due to the scientific advances incorporated into its production. As a result of its work, the first Vertir\u00e9s plants are being marketed. This rootstock is resistant to <i>Verticilium<\/i> defolians and is the product of biotechnology research conducted by the University of C\u00f3rdoba. For this, the company received first prize for Technical Research at Expoliva (Ja\u00e9n, 2017), reinforcing its commitment to R&amp;D&amp;I.
